SENIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITION-posted 1-26-05 Biospace

We are seeking a bright and highly motivated Research Associate who wants to participate in helping a fast-paced company grow. The successful candidate will be exposed to and develop competencies in a wide variety of techniques in the fields of cell and molecular biology, biochemistry and immunology as well as GLP or GMP work. The candidate will be able to develop independence to manage multiple projects and interface with clients. Additionally, the successful candidate will personally develop collaborative and professional skills used in client services.

Requirements:
BS degree with 4-6 years of experience or MS degree with 2 years of experience (in an industrial setting) in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology or a related scientific discipline is essential. We prefer a broad based scientific background or an individual who is highly motivated to learn many different techniques. This experience should include working in a GLP or GMP environment as well as mammalian cell culture, cell biology, growth and maintenance of adherent and non-adherent cell lines, transient and stable transfection of DNA, plus ELISA assays. Also high through-put cell based assays, immunocytochemistry, Western blotting, protein production, purification and analysis are highly desirable. Experience in basic molecular biology and biochemical techniques, including PCR, cDNA library production and cloning, DNA/RNA production, Northern/Southern analysis is a plus. The candidate should have working knowledge of Word and Excel.

SCIENTIST

The candidate will be able to develop independence to manage multiple projects and interface with clients. The candidate will also be responsible for managing the laboratory on a daily basis to ensure the smooth flow of research projects. Additionally, the successful candidate will personally develop collaborative and professional skills used in client services.

Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred. We prefer a broad based scientific background or an individual who is highly motivated to learn many different techniques. This experience should include working in a GLP or GMP environment as well as mammalian cell culture, cell biology, growth and maintenance of adherent and non-adherent cell lines, transient and stable transfection of DNA, plus ELISA assays.
