Marin Biologic Laboratories, Inc. is excited to announce that Dr. Kevin Wilhelmsen has joined the team as one of our Senior Scientists.

Dr. Kevin WilhelmsenDr. Wilhelmsen comes to us from UCSF where he served as an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Anesthesia. His research at UCSF focused on elucidating inflammatory pathways activated in leukocytes and endothelial cells. Some of his more significant discovers include identifying the intracellular proteins ERK5 as a key intermediary in inflammatory signalizing pathways.

Prior to UCSF, he was a scientist at a small start-up biotech company. There he was in charge of developing monoclonal antibodies to the EGF receptor. He completed his postdoctoral work at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam. He has a strong, extensive experience in a wide range of molecular, cellular, immunological and biochemical assays including cell-based functional assays, ELISA and qPCR.
